Mario Vargas Llosa, in Week Complutense de las Letras
Mario Vargas Llosa, Nobel Prize in Literature 2010, is the central figure of the week I Complutense de las Letras, which will take place at UCM between 3 and 6 May. The author not only participate in two of the nearly 80 activities taking place during the week, but many will be dedicated to his work.
Writers Complutense 2.0 Platform, which has emerged the initiative to convene this week's annual letters, and as part nearly 300 authors who belong or have belonged to the UCM-, decided to pay homage to the first edition Nobel for literature, given its link with the Complutense University where he studied between 1958 and 1960 and earned his doctorate. The idea is that each year the week to pay tribute to a prominent author Complutense.
Specifically, Vargas Llosa participates, together with Juan Carlos Cruz and beans in a debate entitled "Conversation in the University: Mario Vargas Llosa in the SPD, which will take place on May 4, from 19 pm in the Auditorium San Bernardo (c / San Bernardo, 49). Admission is free until all places.
An hour before the start of the conversation (18:00 h), the Nobel opened at the Library of the Faculty of Philology (University City) an exhibition, entitled "Among the books by Mario Vargas Llosa," realizes the richness and variety of the work of Vargas Llosa preserved in the Library of the UCM, from the copy of his doctoral thesis in 1971 under the title "García Márquez: language and structure of his narrative," to a copy of the speech to the Swedish Academy to receive the Nobel Prize for Literature. Also will release its attachment as a student with the UCM. Other activities related to the figure of Vargas Llosa is the competition, "Mario Vargas Llosa Letters" or, among others, a literary lecture series "Light of Vargas Llosa, organized in collaboration with Forum Complutense.
In addition to this programming dedicated to the author of the Hero, R Complutense de las Letras week will have many other points of interest that are covered in numerous conferences, contests, shows, exhibitions, panel discussions, theatrical performances, workshops and days.
The opening of all these activities, directed by Professor José Manuel Lucía Megías Studies will be held on May 3 at 11:00 am at the Biblioteca Histórica Marqués de Valdecilla (c / Novitiate, 3) and in the same intervene the writer Fernando Iwasaki. The closing ceremony will take place on May 6 at 14:00 pm in the Faculty of Philology, after Complutense Awards for Literature this year.
